As long as we get water 24 hours, no one thinks of saving it or use it wisely but the moment there is a water cut we have to use a certain amount of water for a certain duration, we start using it wisely.

So, why not the same thing with time? We have only 365 days in a year, 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes per hour, and 60 seconds per minute. Time is also finite and we can do only so much in time that we have at our disposal, yet we do not give it the kind of importance we give to all other things that we have either achieved or not, by using this time wisely or foolishly.

How many of us maintain a daily time log? Start making one today, if you have still not, try doing it for at least 15 days for self-awareness and for better management of time. It need not be a very elaborate one, just a simple time log of all the activities conducted during the day, from the moment you got up to the time you are ready to go to sleep.

There are some excellent timekeeping apps available in the play store & apple store. Or you can do it the old fashion way of maintaining a diary. Mark each activity as either Important, Urgent, routine, or time waster. This dairy when referred back will not only tell you where you have wasted your time but it will also teach you how to prioritise daily schedule based upon the importance of the matter. It will teach you to effectively use your time and achieve a lot more in the same time period and that too, more efficiently. we will definitely discuss in the next blog about how to break it down to an even smaller time frame.

One last thought before going “Ask yourself whether better planning would cut back on those hours? These are moments of your prime time that you can never recapture and you have only yourself to blame”.
